It all started with two guys with a shared passion of hockey and beer. Already an experienced homebrewer, Justin Egbert invited Paul Power to come brew with him. Together they called themselves BeerdOPower. They brewed beers that they knew that they’d love and started sharing it with friends. It didn’t take long for the rave reviews to come in and before they knew it they were making beers for weddings and parties.

Seeing the response that their beers received from friends and strangers alike, naturally the thought of going pro came up. As the Arizona craft beer scene blew up, the guys were able to see how the other breweries were doing it and that helped focus their brewery plans. The model they landed on was a small taproom that would serve as the local watering hole for a community where they can make small batch beers focused on unique and creative ingredients.
In 2018 the opportunity they’d been waiting for fell into their laps. The Litchfield Taproom became available and they jumped at the chance. With a location closely tied to a community and 1 barrel brewing system, it checked all the boxes of what they were looking for and before they knew it, they were brewery owners!
In making the transition from homebrewers to a craft brewery, the guys decided that they needed a name to match the brewery they wanted to be. While Justin and Paul will always be known as BeerdOPower, the brewery would be named Transplant City Beer Co. Transplant City refers to the Phoenix area where people from all over the country and world gather. Justin (SoCal) and Paul (Idaho) are themselves transplants to Phoenix. The idea of Transplant City is to bring people from different backgrounds together into a community with the shared love of craft beer.
After months of renovations and cutting through red tape, Transplant City introduced themselves to the craft beer community on November 24th, 2018 and it’s been a wild ride since. Come down to historic downtown Litchfield Park and you’ll likely be greeted by Paul, Justin and their families. Enjoy one of their core beers like Tiffany Amber and Pepino Sunset or try one of their special releases such as oREO Speedwagon or Milli Vachilli. Small batch sizes allow them to always have a variety of beers on tap and you’ll likely find something new each time you come in! Join their community and let them know where you transplanted from! Cheers!
